Job Summary

The Accountant leads or provides support to the lead of the global sales efforts across all lines of business (Sales, Consulting, Partnerships, Management, Maintenance, etc) for large, multi-national, strategic customers --- orchestrating and engaging all parties around a single, clear, multi-year Accounting strategy. Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. He must professionally articulate and recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options and substantiating financial transactions by auditing documents. The accountant must have relevant experience in Real Estate business.

Job Description 

• Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions

• Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures and policies

• Collecting and analyzing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates

• Preparing budgets for the organization. Monitoring and reporting on accounting inconsistencies

• Keeping up-to-date with financial policies, practices, and regulations

• Analyze and review budgets and expenditures contracts

• Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness

• Prepare and review the budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents

• Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control

• Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients

• Resolve accounting discrepancies

• Recommend, develop and maintain financial databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems

• Preparation of 5 years financial plan/forecast

• Consolidation and reporting to senior management

• Follow up on budget implementations and limits as it relates to each department

• Investigates variances between budget and actual

• Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports

• Tax reporting and inventory processing

• Advising on estimates for project funding

• Creating KPI reports

• Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow

• Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts

• Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data

• Conducting internal audits such as wage reviews

• Examining financial records to check for accuracy

• Managing and training staff when necessary

• Perform financial control functions

• Preparation of overall annual budget of the bank, including the assumptions and the ratios

• Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems as available or would be made available

• Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits

• To establish and monitor internal control policies and procedures as it relates to Accounts

• To ensure timely submission of general account reports on a monthly basis and status report of the financial position of the company on a weekly basis


Skills and Qualification Required:

• Minimum of BSc/HND in Accounting/Finance/Economics

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ICAN, a distinct plus)

• Must have 5 Years financial services experience in a broad based organization

• Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint;

• Good knowledge of FIRS and Management Accounting

• Attention to detail and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and organization skills

• Strong Stakeholder Management and team player.

• Self-Starter and ability to work independently

• Knowledge of Sage, QuickBooks or any relevant Accounting Software

• Supply Management skills
