The Covid-19 pandemic has slowed down the global economy and affected many employees and business owners.

In Africa for instance, most countries closed their borders and also announced lockdowns to curb the spread of the disease.

In Nigeria for instance, the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has disclosed that the country has recorded a 27.1% increase in the number of Nigerians without work.


The NBS indicated that the figure of unemployed people in Nigeria has increased from 20.93 million in the third quarter of 2018 to 21.77 million in the second quarter of 2020.

This is the first data on the unemployment rate in Nigeria in 20 months. The data also shows the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on Nigeria’s job market.


The economic effect of Covid-19 has contributed to the unemployment rate as companies have either laid off some staff, cut pays, or asked employees to go on compulsory leave until further notice.

However, there are jobs available and these employment positions are available in companies.


Sales executives

Every business during this time needs sales executives. This is because the companies need to make money to keep their businesses running.

However, businesses will be willing to hire the best sales executives in these times. If you think you will be great at sales, look out for such opportunities and apply.
